Lai Xaak a leafy vegetable of mustard family(note: it is not sarson ka patta but both belongs to same family) is a very delicious leafy vegetable with numerous beneficial nutrients in it like calcium, magnesium,folic acid, vitamin K. It is found in North East part of India and Himalayan range. Its little bitter in taste and is a very good vegetarian recipe in itself.

Lai as a vegetarian recipe: The fresh greens are often used for vegetarian recipe among the himalayan ranges and it taste awesome with hot bowl of rice.

Lai used in non vegetarian dishes: In Assam and north east of India Lai Xaak is also used in non vegetarian dishes like chicken with lai, pork with lai. Its bitter taste,freshness and its fiber texture goes very well with non veg recipes and it is a complete meal in itself.

Lai Xaak(patta) is a very healthy dish and should be a part of our diet.
